Step beyond the exhibits and uncover some of Bendigo’s hidden history with an exclusive Behind the Scenes Tour of the Soldiers Memorial Institute Building. As part of the 2025 Australian Heritage Festival, this special tour offers rare access to areas of the museum not normally open to the public.
Take a guided journey through the museum, uncovering the remarkable stories of the building which holds Bendigo’s irreplaceable military heritage.
You will have the opportunity to get an up-close view of the heritage-listed brass honour boards and learn some of the stories behind the names, enjoy exclusive access to the heritage-listed band rotunda at the top of the memorial building, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Bendigo’s stunning streetscape, and learn about the mine that still sits beneath the building.
