After ANZAC Day commemorations, continue your journey of remembrance by unearthing your family’s hidden military history at the BMM’s Antiques Roadshow-style event.

This special event invites you to bring in 3-5 items of military memorabilia from your family’s collection for expert identification and insight. Our panel of four local specialists, each with extensive experience in Australia’s military heritage, will help uncover the fascinating stories behind your treasures.

What You Can Expect:

• Expert identification of your items—learn what they are, what they’re made of, and when and where they were used.
• Insights into the historical significance of your memorabilia.
• Guidance on how to track down relatives’ service records.
• Information on military medals, their origins, and why they were awarded.

While you wait for your turn, you’ll have the opportunity to view other members of the community’s collections—prepare to be amazed and entertained as you discover the unique items and stories others have brought along!

Each session will last approximately 15-20 minutes. To ensure that everyone has a chance to meet with our experts, we kindly ask that you be mindful of the time. If your collection requires further investigation, our research team will gladly reach out to you after the event with additional information—simply leave your contact details with them on the day.

Cost:  $15 for a session with the experts, which includes 3-5 items and covers entry for 1 visitor to the Museum.

Extra guests are welcome to attend, but standard ticketing prices apply for additional visitors. Tickets for extra guests can be purchased at the door on the day.
